COMING SOON: GFPI Community Fund: Enhancing Access to GFPP-Aligned Food in Metro Chicago

The Chicago Food Policy Action Council (CFPAC) is excited to announce the upcoming launch of the GFPI Community Fund, a new initiative aimed at increasing access to Good Food Purchasing Program (GFPP)-aligned produce and food products in the Metro Chicago region.

This fund specifically targets systematically marginalized farmers and food businesses located in Illinois, or within a 250-mile radius of Chicago, who desire to sell to community food access sites while striving to meet GFPP standards, including local production, sustainable practices, fair labor, animal welfare, and nutrition. Eligible applicants will have the opportunity to apply for grants ranging from $40,000 to $80,000 this fall.

The GFPI Community Fund is dedicated to supporting these deserving farmers and food businesses, providing them with financial assistance to enhance their operations and expand their impact within the region's sustainable food ecosystem. Stay tuned for more information on including application guidelines and how to participate in this exciting opportunity.
